Split Tunneling gives users more control over how they use BelNet. Rather than sending every application through the VPN, users can decide which applications should use BelNet and which should connect normally.
This makes privacy more practical for everyday use because different users have different requirements. Beldex is also working on additional functionality including proxy settings, firewall controls, and VPN hotspot features.
The broader principle is that privacy should not have to be all-or-nothing. Beldex is also improving accessibility through language support and localization, with the overall objective of making privacy easier to understand, control, and use.

The EVM-compatible sidechain is one of the major milestones on the Beldex roadmap because it will allow developers familiar with Ethereum tooling to work within the Beldex ecosystem.
For Q3 and Q4 2026, the roadmap includes account-based addresses and privacy tokens. The BNB Smart Chain bridge is already live, after a comprehensive penetration testing by Hacken. The EVM-compatible sidechain testnet is planned for Q2 2027, followed by the mainnet later in 2027.
Beldex's approach is to build the privacy foundation first. Account-based addresses introduce a more flexible architecture for modern applications, privacy tokens expand privacy beyond BDX itself, and the EVM environment will then allow developers to use familiar tools on top of that privacy layer.
The intention is for privacy to be inherited as part of the architecture from the beginning rather than added to applications later.

That is part of the design of a privacy-first ecosystem. The Beldex team does not have direct visibility into individual wallets, balances, or transactions.
When proof is required, users can choose which information they want to disclose. If a transaction involves a custodial platform such as an exchange or swap provider, that service may also have its own records that can assist in resolving the issue.
Privacy therefore does not mean evidence can never exist. It means the network does not automatically expose information that does not need to be public. The user remains in control of what is revealed.

AI is one of the areas Beldex sees as a major future opportunity. AI is moving beyond information generation toward autonomous agents that can maintain identities, communicate with applications, make decisions, and eventually execute transactions.
That creates a significant privacy challenge. An autonomous agent may require identity, communications, credentials, and payments. If all of those functions are public by default, a surveillance layer can form around AI systems.
Beldex sees its existing infrastructure as potentially relevant to this problem: BNS can provide identity, BChat can provide private communication, and privacy tokens can enable confidential value transfers.

The main challenge is balancing privacy, speed, and scalability at the same time.
Onion routing uses multiple routing layers to protect information about where network traffic originates and where it is going. As more users join the network, sufficient nodes and capacity are required to keep the experience fast and reliable.
For Beldex, scaling therefore involves more than simply increasing the number of users. The underlying decentralized infrastructure must also grow without compromising the privacy that makes BelNet valuable in the first place.
The team is working on balancing speed and privacy while also exploring a revenue model. BelNet does not currently have an active revenue mechanism, but subscription models are being considered, together with faster decentralized nodes and more advanced privacy features.
